SCRUTOPIA SUMMER SCHOOL

‘What kinds of freedom really matter?'2025 Theme

what is scrutopia

The Scrutopia Summer School founded by Roger Scruton offers a unique philosophical retreat, with a rich programme of lectures, tours, music, and conversation over dinner.

This year's theme is "What kinds of freedom really matter?". Confirmed special guest speakers include Lord Sumption and Professor Kathleen Stock alongside our core faculty.

Hosted at The Royal Agricultural University in The Cotswolds and Sundey Hill Farm, where Roger lived and worked for 30 years.

In 2025 Scrutopia will run from 21st-28th July,  the Gala Dinner takes place on Friday the 25th July with special guest speaker Professor Kathleen Stock OBE. The Gala Dinner is open to all Scrutopia Alumni.

We also plan to host an Alumni event in the autumn in Italy, the theme for this event will be "Appreciating Europe's Heritage". More information will follow shortly.

A magical week of erudition, conviviality and intense friendship. It could only be formed so quickly and deeply in the musical atmosphere you have managed to create.
